TRY TENNIS FOR JUNIORS

GRETA offers several TryTennis Junior clinics throughout the year. TryTennis offers new players 6 hours of group instruction, a new tennis racquet and a tennis towel for only $40.

MIDDLE SCHOOL PATHWAY SERIES

For 2024, GRETA is introducing a new series designed specifically for middle school aged players who are new to tennis.

GRETA’s Pathway to Match Play offers a year-long series of programming designed to take beginners – even those who have never picked up a racquet before — and have them playing matches by the end of the year.  This is a great program for middle schoolers and rising 9th-graders who want to develop the skills needed to play in USTA rec leagues (like Junior Team Tennis) or try out for their High School tennis team.

JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS

USTA Junior Team Tennis brings kids together in co-ed teams to play singles and doubles against other co-ed teams. It promotes social skills and important values, it creates a spirit of cooperation, unity, sportsmanship as well as individual self-growth. It’s a fun environment for kids to play on a team, work together in which they learn that succeeding is really more about how they play the game – win or lose. USTA Junior Team Tennis fueled by GRETA is for 10u, 12u, 14u and 18u leveled players.

TEAM CHALLENGES

TEAM CHALLENGE
Team Challenges are an introduction to tennis competition offering a low-pressure team environment for children of all ages to develop their skills through level-based play, without an emphasis on instruction or results.

The objective is to provide a fun and social environment that highlights character and skill development.  Team Challenges are played with red, orange or grey tennis balls.

Team Challenge Events from Net Generation are a new program for juniors!  Join these programs for a casual, laid-back atmosphere where the children will play tennis and other fun games!

USTA JUNIOR TOURNAMENTS

When you’re ready to play competitive tennis, USTA Junior Tournaments are a great way to get out on the court and test your game.

As your local Community Tennis Association, we partner and support our local tennis professionals, swim & tennis clubs, and public facilities and we are happy to provide you additional information on how to get your child out on the courts!

"GRETA is all about helping the game of tennis grow in our area. A friend moved here last spring from Atlanta and I reached out to the office for assistance in getting this relocated player involved in a tri-level team. BAM! Registered and on a team in a matter of days."

"After playing recreational tennis 90 minutes a week for a year with my friends, I knew that I wanted to devote more of my time learning this sport I love but I wasn't sure where to start. After getting a recommendation from a member of GRETA, I signed up for the Try Tennis program. Try Tennis introduced me to local tennis pros who helped me start learning proper technique and how to participate in USTA leagues. Thanks to GRETA I am now fully involved in our local tennis community through volunteering opportunities, getting coached by Guilford County tennis pros, and playing weekly tennis with many new friends that I meet playing in Piedmont league matches."
