At GRETA, we believe tennis has the power to bring people together, build confidence, and create opportunities for everyone to belong. That’s why we’re proud to be a partner of Abilities Tennis of North Carolina, a statewide Community Tennis Association.

Step onto the courts during an Abilities Tennis clinic in Greensboro, and you’ll quickly realize it’s about much more than forehands and serves. You’ll hear laughter after a great rally, see teammates celebrating one another’s successes, and witness the excitement that comes with trying something new and discovering, “I can do this!”

Each week of one of the clinic sessions hosted, players with intellectual, and developmental disabilities come together to learn tennis in a supportive, encouraging environment. Every participant progresses at their own pace, and every milestone—whether it’s making solid contact with the ball, serving over the net for the first time, or simply gaining the confidence to join the group—is celebrated.

What makes the program truly special is the community that surrounds it. Dedicated lead coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters give their time, encouragement, and enthusiasm to ensure every player feels welcomed and valued. The relationships formed on the court often become lasting friendships, reminding us that inclusion is built one connection at a time.
