VOLUNTEER INFORMATION and SIGN UP LINKS
GRETA is proud to serve as the host Community Tennis Association (CTA) for the 2026 USTA North Carolina 55 & over State Championships, and we’re incredibly grateful for the continued support of our vibrant tennis community!
We’ll be welcoming over 800 players from across the state competing on 42 courts each day — and we need your help to make this event a success.
Volunteers must be 18 years or older, and each volunteer must sign up individually using a unique email and cell number to ensure you receive:
- Training materials (video + written, via email from USTA North Carolina
- Volunteer t-shirt and name badge plus fun, community spirit!
REQUIRED: All volunteers must review training materials before working the event.
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:
- Lead Site Coordinator: Primary contact for assigned facility. A local club member or area resident who is available throughout the weekend to handle on-site needs and last-minute issues. This person does not need to be on-site the entire time but must be reachable.
- Site Desk Coordinators: Help check in teams, assign courts, distribute balls, and report results to Tournament HQ. Monitor court usage and enforce warm-up limits. Training Required Prior to Event
- Site Desk Floater Volunteers: ON CALL to fill in during delays, weather interruptions, or staffing transitions (especially if indoor sites are activated). May also relieve afternoon site volunteers. Training Required Prior to Event
- Site Hospitality Coordinators: Be one of the smiling faces that welcomes players to a site location and makes them feel welcome and knowledgable of facility information such as location of restrooms, nearby restaurants, coffee and snack options for tournament players on site. Take a team photo, ask them about their day.
- Court Maintenance Volunteers (Sweep Lines): Assist with mid-day court line sweeping, site supply refresh, gather or restock ice, and refill water stations at assigned facilities as needed.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Schedules may shift: Once final match schedules are released, some volunteer slots may be adjusted or consolidated. If your slot is no longer needed, you may be asked to serve at a nearby location or different time.
