As tennis players, spectators and supporters of youth sports, we know how important being introduced to a sport can be. Help us make one of those sport’s tennis! Tennis teaches teamwork, sportsmanship, social skills and has been documented to improve academic achievement.

There are 71,698 children in the Guilford County School system. GRETA recently partnered with GCS and High Point Parks & Rec Afterschool Programs to provide tennis instruction and programming for youth in our area. Our goal is to make sure that every youth gets a racquet in their hand and is introduced to the sport of tennis.

This is an important service to our community. Putting a racquet in a child’s hand helps them to improve their physical skills, expand their social skills and gives them the opportunity to learn a sport that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.

As a caring contributor, you can give the wonderful gift of tennis to a child in our community by donating to our fundraising campaign. Your contributions help GRETA provide racquets, nets, balls, programming opportunities and professional instruction to ALL youth in our area.

REACH

GRETA offers “REACH” programming at various times throughout the year. Programs are designed for beginner players. The first program is provided at no cost to participants. GRETA provides all equipment and instruction for this program. You donations help us to continue to provide this program which strives to reach grow tennis in our community by reaching one player at a time!

Partnership With Guilford County Schools

GRETA has partnered with Guilford County Schools and Net Generation to get equipment to the PE instructors for all 128 schools in the GCS system. We have further provided training for the elementary PE instructors and we are committed to assisting them with instruction during their classes when requested. Plans are in place to do the same for Middle Schools and High Schools.

High Point Parks and Recreation

GRETA has partnered with HPPR to bring tennis instruction to 3 area rec centers in the HIgh Point community. Over 80 kids are receiving tennis instruction once a week during their after school care program. With your contributions, we plan to expand this programming to their summer camp programs.

Junior Tennis Program

GRETA offers USTA Junior Team Tennis, tournament play, tennis carnivals and various youth programs throughout the year to continue to provide opportunities for the youth in our community to play and enjoy the benefits of tennis!

Each square that you purchase helps us provide programming opportunities, equipment and instruction to more than 71,000 youth in our area. Most of those youth would not have the opportunity to get a tennis racquet in their hand and be introduced to the sport. You can help us bring tennis to them!
